The Arizona State Sun Devils dropped out of the Top 25 in the Associated Press college football poll from No. 19 following a loss Saturday on the road in Provo, Utah.

After beating ASU 27-17, BYU jumped eight spots up from No. 23 to No. 15. The Cougars move to 3-0 on the 2021 season with all three wins against Pac-12 South teams.

It was a slow start to the game for the Sun Devils, as three first half turnovers had them facing a 21-7 deficit at the half. ASU was able to make a game of it, scoring 10 unanswered points to start the second half, but it was too little too late.

ASU quarterback Jayden Daniels tossed for 265 yards through the air, but did through two interceptions. The Cougars were able to limit Daniels to just eight yards on the ground after he ran for a career-high 125 yards a week ago against UNLV.

With the Sun Devils now out of the AP Poll, the Pac-12 only has two teams in the Top 25, No. 3 Oregon and No. 24 UCLA, who is coming off a loss to No. 22 Fresno State.

Here’s the AP poll heading into Week 4, where the Sun Devils face Colorado.
