TEMPE — Arizona State Sun Devils defensive end Travez Moore is out for the remainder of the 2021 season due to an injury.
ASU head coach Herm Edwards made the announcement during his weekly press conference on Monday.
“He’s done [for the year],” Edwards said.
Edwards did not specify what Moore injured but was asked about the defensive end’s knee. It marks the second season-ending injury that the Sun Devils’ defensive line has sustained already this year.
In mid-August, senior defensive lineman Jermayne Lole was also lost for the season after tearing his triceps.
Moore played in three games with Arizona State after transferring from LSU following his opt-out of the 2020 campaign.
In his time as a Sun Devil, the graduate student registered six tackles and one sack.
INJURY UPDATES
— Sophomore running back DeaMonte “Chip” Trayanum has missed both of ASU’s last two games, but Edwards is hopeful that he will be able to suit up as Pac-12 Conference play begins.
“All likelihood, that’s the hopeful thought,” Edwards said. ‘They’re a lot better than they were. That kind of looks like we’re headed that way.”
— Senior cornerback Chase Lucas also appears to be fine after getting his bell rung in Saturday night’s 27-17 loss on the road to BYU.
“He was up in the meeting. I saw him today. He feels OK,” Edwards said.
