Pro Football Hall of Fame names Anquan Boldin, Antonio Cromartie eligible for class of 2022

Two former Arizona Cardinals were named eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s list of Modern-Era nominees for 2022.

Wide receiver Anquan Boldin and defensive back Antonio Cromartie were named as newcomers to the list for the first time.

They join fullback Larry Centers, defensive backs Adrian Wilson and Tim McDonald, quarterback Dave Krieg, punter Jeff Feagles and wide receiver Eric Metcalf as former Cardinals on the list for the 2022 class.

The class consists of 65 offensive players, 46 defensive players and 11 special teams players. The list will shrink to 25 players in November before 15 finalists are named in January.

Boldin totaled 586 receptions for 7,520 yards and 45 total touchdowns in his seven years with the Cardinals from 2003-09.

The wide receiver had five years with the Cardinals where he went over 1,000 yards receiving, seven total in his career. He also helped Arizona reach its only Super Bowl in history in 2008.

He was the 2003 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, named to three Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl with the Ravens in the 2012 season.

Cromartie had a one-year stint in 2014 with Arizona where he played on the opposite side of the field from Patrick Peterson.

The corner put up one of his better years, being named to one of his four Pro Bowls, totaling three interceptions, 49 tackles and one fumble returned for a touchdown.

On top of his Pro Bowl appearances, Cromartie was named First Team All-Pro in 2007 where he led the league in interceptions with 10.
