After starting the season 0-3, Arizona Wildcats head coach Jedd Fisch decided to change his starting quarterback, sending out Jordan McCloud in the 41-19 loss to No. 3 Oregon on the road.

It wasn’t the start either Fisch or his quarterback envisioned, as McCloud’s first pass was intercepted by the Ducks.

The second drive was much better for McCloud and company. Backed up deep in their territory to start the drive, the Wildcats went 91 yards on 10 plays. The drive was capped off by McCloud finding Bryce Wolma for the 11-yard score.

McCloud would finish his first half as starter going 10-of-15 through the air for 127 with the one touchdown pass and two interceptions.

The second half didn’t go much better for the McCloud and the Arizona offense. The Wildcats were able to amount yards, but couldn’t turn them into points when needed.

McCloud would finish the game going 21-of-36 through the air for 233 and the touchdown. However, he did throw five total interceptions. His interceptions were the only turnovers of the game.

McCloud became the third quarterback to start a game for the Wildcats this season, joining Gunner Cruz and Will Plummer.

Plummer was the starter last week at home against NAU, but was benched in favor of McCloud after throwing two interceptions. Against NAU, McCloud was 6-of-7 passing for 66 yards and threw one touchdown.
