The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to sign veteran cornerback Quinton Dunbar, an addition that would build depth to a position group that lost starter Malcolm Butler just before the beginning of the season, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro added Dunbar will join the team’s practice squad.

Arizona also on Monday signed corner Antonio Hamilton to the active roster off its practice squad, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Hamilton was used as a nickel cornerback in Week 2 when rookie Marco Wilson went down with an injury but has also been activated all three games of the year so far.

Dunbar spent the offseason with the Detroit Lions before he was released in August.

Last year, he appeared in six games — all starts — for the Seattle Seahawks but spent the end of the year attempting to recover from a knee injury that ultimately required surgery.

Dunbar played for Washington from 2015-2019.

He has 64 games of NFL experience in his career and compiled 180 tackles, 10 interceptions and 40 passes defensed since entering the league.

Dunbar joins a cornerback room that when healthy this year has featured No. 1 Byron Murphy, the rookie Wilson and veteran Robert Alford.
