Another week, another test for the Arizona State football team as Herm Edwards’ squad heads to Pasadena to face the No. 20 UCLA Bruins in their first road Pac-12 game of the season.
For the first time this season, the Sun Devils will play the role of the underdog, as UCLA is a 3.5-point favorite according to the FanDuel Sportsbook.
However, the oddsmakers think ASU will be able to keep it within that number, having the Sun Devils covering the spread at -124 odds. The Bruins have +102 odds to cover the 3.5-point spread.
As for the moneyline, bettors could profit off the Sun Devils should they win the contest outright. The moneyline for ASU is set at +134, where a $100 bet would net you $134. The Bruins are a -164 favorite on the moneyline, where that $100 bet only wins you $60.
For the season, the Sun Devils are just 1-3 against the spread, with their lone cover coming last Saturday in ASU’s 35-13 win over Colorado. However, in their last five games against UCLA, the Sun Devils are 1-4 against the spread, according to OddsShark.
Chip Kelly’s Bruins have been the favorite in all four of their games this season. They’ve covered the spread in each game except for one, when they were knocked off at home against No. 18 Fresno State.
The points total for Saturday night’s contest is set at 55.5. With the Sun Devils relying on a potent run-attack and strong defense, the under has been a betting trend for ASU, as seven of its last 10 games have gone under the point total.
With that being said, the total has gone over in four of the last five meetings between the Sun Devils and Bruins when played in Southern California.
