Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Chris Owings has been named the 2013 Pacific Coast League Rookie of the Year.
The 22-year-old infielder, who is currently sporting a .331 average with 12 home runs, 73 RBI and 16 stolen bases for Triple-A Reno, is the third straight D-backs prospect to win the award, joining Adam Eaton (2012) and Colin Cowgill (2011).
Owings’ stellar season is not just limited to what he does with the bat, as his 331 assists lead all PCL shortstops and he is tied for fourth with 124 putouts.
