TEMPE — Remember when you were a kid and you made your annual wish list for the holidays?

Usually, there were a few things that were within means, and then there were the outrageous asks, whether it be a car, a pony or a brand new set of very expensive golf clubs.

The worst parents or relatives could say is no, right?

Well, it seems the duo of Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury and quarterback Kyler Murray have taken those practices to the NFL level.

“Kyler and I are like his worst nightmare with our wish lists though, because it’s like outlandish stuff that would never fit under the cap, but we keep sending it to [Cardinals general manager Steve Keim] just to let him know we care.”

“It’s pretty much unlimited,” Kingsbury added of his list. “When I see somebody that’s really good and he’s gonna be a free agent, I just send him to Steve and be like, ‘Question mark’ and he usually has to explain that it’s not gonna fit under the cap but keep trying.”

Keim evidently listened ahead of the team’s Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, bringing in play-making tight end Zach Ertz via trade on Friday to take over Maxx Williams’ expanded role in the offense.

“For me, I’m trying to get every skill player possible in the league, so I had my wishes and desires, but it’s just something we got done obviously today, Kingsbury said.”

“I’m sure [Ertz was on Murray’s wish list],” the head coach added.
