Phoenix Suns have top-6 odds to win 2021-22 NBA championship

Oct 20, 2021, 7:36 AM

Oddsmakers are expecting the Phoenix Suns to be right in the mix for another NBA championship in 2021-22.

FanDuel Sportsbook currently has the Suns at +1500 to win the NBA championship. The Suns have the sixth-best odds overall and the fourth-best odds among Western Conference teams.

The Brooklyn Nets are currently the favorites for the NBA championship with +250 odds. The Los Angeles Lakers are the favorites among Western Conference teams at +400.

The Milwaukee Bucks (+650), Golden State Warriors (+1200) and the Utah Jazz (+1400) all have better odds for the NBA title than the Suns as well.

For the Western Conference championship, the Suns have +850 odds. The Los Angeles Clippers jump above Phoenix in the conference title odds, making the Suns the fifth-place favorites to win the Western Conference.

Despite the Clippers and Warriors having better odds than Phoenix for the conference and NBA titles, Phoenix jumps above them both with +200 odds for the Pacific Division title. Only the Lakers (+100) have better division championship odds.

As far as wins go, FanDuel Sportsbook has a similar win total to last year’s 51 wins in mind. Phoenix’s over/under win total is set at 51.5, though the NBA is back to an 82-game schedule after playing 72 in 2020-21 due to COVID-19 disrupting the prior season.

Additionally, Phoenix has +1000 odds to have the most regular season wins in the NBA this season.

The Suns are being given extremely favorable -1300 odds to simply make the playoffs. Those are the third-shortest odds for a playoff appearance among Western Conference teams, with only the Lakers and the Jazz being given shorter odds.
