Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach is always one for a soundbite.
More often than not, they tend to trend in the direction of being a little bit odd.
Following the Bulldogs’ 45-6 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday, Leach was having the typical postgame interview on the field with the SEC Network.
ESPN’s Alyssa Lang brought up how the broadcast was discussing Leach’s disdain for candy corn, which led to Leach going on for nearly a minute on his current candy opinions ahead of Halloween.

Leach is clearly a gummy bear man. From there, he seems deadset on the rare box of Spree, but seems very determined to get them out of the box, which you won’t find at most convenience stores.
He then wanted to give his brief thoughts on the latest “candy innovation.” That includes his take that Europe has better candy because they’ve got “gummy everything.”
The new favorite for him is a spin on Nerds, which, you guessed it, has the crunchy candy with a gummy twist.
He wrapped with his personal favorite in the chocolate section, Almond Joy.
Thanks, coach.
