After missing Tuesday’s win against the New Orleans Pelicans with a right leg contusion, Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton is back in the starting lineup for Thursday’s matchup against the Houston Rockets.
Ayton suffered the injury on Saturday during the Suns’ 101-92 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In the 112-100 victory over the Pelicans without Ayton’s services, the Suns got a helping hand from Frank Kaminskey.
In 29 minutes, the big scored 17 points and added three assists and three rebounds.
Fellow big man Javale McGee also helped picked up the slack in Ayton’s absence, scoring 18 points of his own while grabbing five rebounds.
Ayton is currently averaging 13.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and a career-high 1.4 blocks per game this season.
The Suns host the Rockets looking to make it three wins in a row. You can hear all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
