Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim said he did not speak with other teams about wide receiver Andy Isabella following the NFL trade deadline.

This is in response to a report that multiple teams had contacted Arizona for the speedy wideout, yet he was made unavailable.

“I did not talk to another team about Andy, and I’ll say this: My mindset has been, No. 1, he has something you can’t teach, which is tremendous speed,” Keim said on 98.7 FM’s Burns & Gambo Show. “Also, we have a very talented and deep group of receivers. Some of Andy’s lack of touches and lack of time could be attributed to that… We have a number of players on one-year deals as well.

“Sometimes it takes guys a little longer for the light to come on. I’m not saying that’s solely the case for Andy, but certainly holding out hope that he continues to show progress and maybe get a great opportunity this weekend to have some success.”

Isabella has yet to see time on the field as a receiver, rather has seen minimal time on special teams.

As the wide receiver room may look thin come Sunday’s game with A.J. Green going on the COVID-19 list and DeAndre Hopkins being a game-time decision, Isabella could be in line for his first offensive snaps of the year.

“I think that’s a better question for Kliff, but I do think he’ll have opportunities,” Keim said.

The second-round pick has hauled in 30 catches for 413 yards and three touchdowns in his career with Arizona.

The Cardinals will travel to San Francisco to take on the 49ers at 2:25 p.m. on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
