The Arizona Cardinals offense will be without both quarterback Kyler Murray and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for Week 9’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

Both Murray and Hopkins entered the matchup listed as questionable with an ankle and a hamstring injury, respectively. The duo reportedly traveled with the team and were going to test out their injuries pregame.

Murray’s inactive status marks the first time he will miss a game as Arizona’s signal caller. Entering the week, Murray had started all 40 games of his career since the Cardinals made him the top pick in the 2019 draft and started him from Week 1 of that season.

Hopkins had yet to miss a game since joining the team in 2020 (24 games).

In Murray’s place will be backup Colt McCoy. Out wide, Arizona could turn to the likes of Rondale Moore, Antoine Wesley, Christian Kirk or Greg Dortch, who was elevated Saturday to the active roster from the practice squad.

Other Cardinals inactives include cornerback Kevin Peterson, running back Jonathan Ward and safety James Wiggins.

Cardinals backup center Max Garcia, however, is officially active after dealing with an Achilles issue.

As for the 49ers, starting wide receiver Deebo Samuel, running back Elijah Mitchell and defensive lineman Dee Ford are officially active.

Out for San Francisco are defensive backs Jimmie Ward and Deommodore Lenoir, offensive lineman Aaron Banks, running back Trey Sermon, wide receiver Travis Benjamin and defenive linemen Charles Omenihu and Maurice Hurst.

The Cardinals take on the 49ers at 2:25 p.m. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
