The Arizona Cardinals signed long snapper Beau Brinkley to the practice squad on Friday, two days before the team takes on the Carolina Panthers.
Additionally, the team placed long snapper Kyle Nelson on the practice squad injured reserve list. Nelson’s injury was not disclosed.
Nelson was signed to the practice squad on Wednesday after the team placed long snapper Aaron Brewer on injured reserve with a broken arm suffered in Sunday’s win over the San Francisco 49ers.
With no other long snapper on the roster, Brinkley will likely be one of the two standard elevations the team makes ahead of Week 10’s matchup against Carolina. Offensive lineman Sean Harlow will continue to serve as the team’s emergency long snapper, Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury told reporters Wednesday.
The 31-year-old Brinkley entered the league as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Tennessee Titans in 2012. He played nine seasons with the Titans, snapping in all 128 games between 2012-19.
Brinkley, who will wear No. 43, has played in 135 regular season games and five postseason contests in his career.
The Cardinals take on the Panthers on Sunday at 2:05 p.m. Catch all the action at 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
