NFL Football Operation website states: “Only logos or brand names from the league’s official partners can be displayed. Players may wear other brands, as long as they remove or cover the name or logo.”
NFL protocol has been very stringent, uniform issues have been popular as Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been fined close to $50,000 for different uniform violations this season.
Jones passed Nunn after he sacked San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in Sunday’s game for his 67th in a Cardinals uniform.
Nunn passed away on Oct. 16, 2021, playing for the Cardinals from 1985-93. His 66.5 sacks sat atop Cardinals history for 28 years.
All fines collected go directly to funds that benefit former players, according to the website.
