It was a homecoming game for former Arizona Cardinals in Sunday’s 34-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers in Glendale.

Panthers kicker Zane Gonzalez was one of those players to contribute to Carolina’s 23-0 halftime lead in a big way.

The former Arizona State Sun Devil hit both his PATs after the Panthers capitalized on two early blunders by the Cardinals.

Gonzalez also tacked on three more field goals for nine points before the end of the opening half.

The Panthers kicker hit a 44-yard field goal at the end of the first quarter, a 48-yarder midway through the second and a 49-yard FG as time expired in the second quarter.

He outscored the Cardinals by himself at halftime, 11-0.

Gonzalez also outscored his former team 15-10 on the day after hitting another PAT and a 27-yard field goal.

In 33 career games with the Cardinals from 2019-20, Gonzalez went 54-for-66, which registered an 81.8% conversion rate.

He’s been kicking at a 90.5% clip in his first season in Carolina, as Gonzalez has converted 19 of his 21 field goal attempts on the year.
