Trivia Tuesday: NFL QBs with 300-plus yards in first start
Nov 16, 2021, 6:00 AM
When a quarterback throws for 300 or more yards in an NFL game these days, it’s hardly news.
But when a quarterback throws for 300 or more yards in his first NFL start, that’s still a pretty special accomplishment.
In fact, since the 1970 merger with the AFL, only 32 passers have hit the triple-century mark in passing yardage in their first start.
Guess what? That’s your Trivia Tuesday challenge this week — name them.
We’ve given you the year each QB’s first start occurred, the team for which they started and the number of yards he threw for. All you have to do is name the quarterback.
This is a pretty hard quiz, honestly, so here’s another hint: seven of the names on this list are current or former Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals.
And if you can get the quarterback in 1987 marked with an asterisk (this happened when the league used replacement players during a labor dispute), you’re a Trivia God!
You’ve got eight minutes to complete this quiz. Good luck!
