TEMPE — Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was back among his teammates to kick off the week of practice on Wednesday, another encouraging sign the signal caller’s rehab on his left ankle is paying off.

“It’s one of those things where you’re not really making it worse even though it may feel that way,” Murray said after practice. “Just kinda gotta get used to that and work through it. It gets better as it goes.

“Like I said last week, I’ve made crazy progress. I’m way further along than I thought I would be. And like coach said, I’m pretty close.”

After doing more stationary work in his lone day of practice last week, Murray showed off a little more mobility during individual drills, dropping back and moving around the pocket much more Wednesday.

But as far as Murray getting the green light for Sunday’s divisional contest against the Seattle Seahawks? That’s still up for debate.

After missing the past two contests, the Cardinals aren’t about to run Murray out there if he can’t at the very least protect himself.

“We’ll see. He was out there moving around pretty good today and has just gotten better each day,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said Wednesday. “We shall see how it progresses.

“I liked how he moved today but we gotta make sure he’s comfortable,” Kingsbury added. “I don’t have odds but I’ve been hopeful each week that he could kinda turn the corner on it and hasn’t yet completely, but hopefully this is the week.”

EXTRA POINT

– Kingsbury on backup quarterback Colt McCoy, who is dealing with a pectoral strain:

He’s doing “OK, limited him some today but hopefully he feels better tomorrow.”

The Cardinals face the Seahawks in Seattle at 2:25 p.m. on Sunday. Catch all the action on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
