Former Arizona State defensive lineman and current New England Patriot Lawrence Guy earned the Week 11 NFLPA Community MVP for hosting a baby shower for 20 expectant mothers in need.

Guy and his wife, Andrea, gathered baby monitors, diapers, pacifiers, strollers and other health supplies for the event held at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Nov. 12.

They provided more than $40,000 in products.

The former Sun Devil (2008-10) worked with non-profit organizations to identify the participants.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to receive this award out of all the great community service that is currently being done in the NFL,” Guy said in a press release. “Giving back has always been a priority of mine, and I am so grateful to be able to have a platform to help others and raise awareness in areas that are in need.”

The Lawrence Guy Family Foundation started up in 2019 and has tackled various causes including school supplies giveaways and an upcoming Thanksgiving turkey drive.

The NFLPA will make a $10,000 donation to a charity of Guy’s choice to honor his award.

Guy and each week’s winner will be eligible to taker home the Alan Page Community Award at the end of the season.
