ASU’s Jack Jones and Kellen Diesch invited to East-West Shrine Bowl

Two Arizona State graduate seniors accepted invitations to participate in the East-West Shrine Bowl in February.

Offensive lineman Kellen Diesch and defensive back Jack Jones will participate in the 97th edition of the college football All-Star game. They will get valuable reps and time in front of many NFL scouts during the event in Las Vegas.

Diesch has started every game at left tackle for the Sun Devils this year. He’s played an impressive 714 snaps this season, all at left tackle.

Diesch has proven to be one of the best pass blockers in the country this season. Entering the Oregon State game, his Pro Football Focus pass blocking grade of 90.8 was the best grade in the Pac-12 and fourth in the country. His overall grade of 85.2 entering this past week was 12th among tackles in the country.

He was ranked 49th in PFF’s early 2022 NFL Draft Big Board.

Jones has not gotten the same amount of draft hype as Diesch. However, he has been a crucial veteran piece to ASU’s secondary. Jones has two interceptions and forced two fumbles this season, including a forced fumble against the Beavers.

Diesch and Jones are not the only Sun Devils to have been invited to a postseason all-star game. Redshirt senior running back Rachaad White was invited to take part in the 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl on Nov. 17.

The 2022 East-West Shrine Bowl will take place on Feb. 3, 2022.
