The NBA named Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker as the Western Conference Player of the Week for his help in extending the team’s winning streak to 16 games.

Point guard Trae Young earned the Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors by averaging 31.3 points on 56% shooting along with 8.5 assists over a 3-1 stretch for the Atlanta Hawks.

The four-game stretch that Booker played from last Monday through Sunday saw him average 30 points on 53% shooting and 56% three-point accuracy.

Playing all 20 games for the 17-3 Suns, Booker is averaging 23.9 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game for the year.

He’s scored 30-plus in three straight games, beginning with a 35-point outing Wednesday against the Cavaliers.

Phoenix next hits the court Tuesday at the Footprint Center against the 18-2 Golden State Warriors.

The battle of the two best NBA teams by record tips off at 8 p.m. and will air on TNT and 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
