The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Liam O’Brien under COVID-19 protocols, the club announced Monday.
The Coyotes had three players put in the protocols in the last week: forwards Jay Beagle, Lawson Crouse and Alex Galchenyuk.
Arizona had its second straight game postponed on Monday, a Tuesday matchup with the Seattle Kraken. Both of those postponements, per the NHL’s announcements, were due to the rising COVID-19 concerns for the Coyotes’ opposition.
The NHL has been active with postponements, pausing the seasons for 10 of its 32 teams because of the COVID-19 situations for those organizations.
O’Brien, 27, has played in 21 games for the Coyotes this season. He has one goal, one assist and a league-leading 57 penalty minutes.
Across four other seasons in the NHL, O’Brien played in a combined 29 games for the Colorado Avalanche and Washington Capitals.
