TEMPE — The Arizona Cardinals will be without defensive lineman Jordan Phillips when they take on the Indianapolis Colts on Christmas.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury ruled the lineman out following practice Thursday. Phillips has been dealing with a knee injury suffered in last week’s loss to the Detroit Lions and underwent an MRI on Monday.

It’s a tough loss for the Cardinals, who will need all hands on deck against a vaunted Colts rushing attack led by MVP candidate Jonathan Taylor.

In other injury news, wide receiver Rondale Moore (ankle), running back James Conner (heel) and offensive lineman Max Garcia (knee) are considered game-day decisions, per Kingsbury.

“I’m confident,” Conner said of his status Thursday. “Still in the air … making progress on it. Just got a little spot that’s hurting. Just keep getting that treatment on it and I’ll take it hour by hour and just try to keep getting better so I feel the best going into [Saturday].”

Conner added that the heel injury is on the opposite foot of his previous ankle injury.

Moore was another Cardinal who underwent an MRI on Monday and didn’t practice this week.

Garcia was a limited participant to kick off the week of practice before being downgraded to out on Wednesday. He was back in the mix on Thursday though, a positive sign for the lineman.

With Rodney Hudson still under COVID-19 protocols, Garcia could serve as the team’s starting center for Saturday’s matchup against the Colts.

Arizona takes on Indianapolis at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
