ASU, UA hoops’ next 2 games against USC, UCLA postponed

The next two games for both the Arizona State men’s basketball team and the No. 6 Arizona Wildcats have been postponed due to issues related to COVID-19, the teams announced Friday.
Both Arizona schools were set to travel to California next week to play No. 5 UCLA and No. 8 USC, but COVID-19 issues within the two opponents caused the postponement.
The Sun Devils were set to play the Trojans on Dec. 30 and then play the Bruins two days later on Jan. 1.
As for Arizona, the Wildcats had UCLA scheduled on Dec. 30 and USC on Jan. 2 to ring in the new year.
The Wildcats are coming off their first loss of the season earlier this week, falling to No. 19 Tennessee on Wednesday.
With the postponement, the two Arizona programs’ next games will now be against one another, as the Wildcats travel to Tempe on Jan. 8.
When the two rivals meet, it would be ASU’s first game in nearly three weeks due to postponing the USC and UCLA games. The Sun Devils’ last game was a 66-65 loss to San Francisco on Sunday.
Tip-off for the game has yet to be announced, but is expected to be between noon and 2 p.m. Arizona time, according to a press release.
