The Cardinals lost a big piece to their secondary in cornerback Marco Wilson during Saturday’s loss to the Colts.

Wilson was forced out of action just before halftime after landing hard on his shoulder while attempting to break up a pass intended for Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. The corner was also flagged for defensive pass interference.

He exited the game and went straight to the locker room before being ruled out for the rest of the matchup.

“We’ll see on Wednesday where that stands,” Kingsbury said. “Still being evaluated right now.”

While Wilson’s status remains murky early on in the week, the Cardinals could be in the market to add an extra body or two at the cornerback position to shore up depth. According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Cardinals have already begun to look at their options, working out free-agent cornerback Bashaud Breeland on Monday.

In house, getting added reps in place of Wilson on Saturday was Antonio Hamilton, who has flashed at times this season as an injury replacement and depth piece.

The corner was second on the team in tackles with six and also notched a pass defensed in the defeat. Hamilton ended up playing 57 defensive snaps (81%), the second-most among Arizona CBs.

Another name that could see some more run if Wilson were to miss any time is cornerback Kevin Peterson.

Peterson was also utilized Saturday night when Wilson left the game, playing 24 defensive snaps (34%)

EXTRA POINT

– Kingsbury on the running back James Conner (heel), wide receiver Rondale Moore (ankle) and defensive lineman Jordan Phillips (knee) and where they stand after missing Saturday’s matchup with their respective injuries:

“As of now, all three of those guys I say are day to day.”
