Things just seem to keep going from bad to worse for the Arizona State Sun Devils.

After already knowing several starters were going to be out for various reasons for Thursday night’s Las Vegas Bowl, starting nose tackle D.J. Davidson was added to that list.

The senior DL suffered a concussion during the week of practice leading up to the game vs. the Wisconsin Badgers, according to the Arizona Republic’s Michelle Gardner.

But Davidson is just the most recent player that won’t be suiting up for ASU.

That list features the likes of three more defensive starters in No. 1 and No. 2 cornerbacks Chase Lucas and Jack Jones, as well as linebacker Darien Butler, all of whom opted out in order to prepare for the 2022 NFL Draft.

On offense, the Sun Devils will be missing runnings backs Rachaad White and DeaMonte “Chip” Trayanum, wide receiver Johnny Wilson, and two starting offensive lineman in center Dohnovan West and right guard Henry Hattis.

White also opted out, while West and Hattis are unavailable due to thumb surgery and a knee injury, respectively.

However, both Trayanum and Wilson transferred out of the Arizona State football program earlier this week.

The WR transferred to Florida State on Dec. 23, while the RB transferred to Ohio State on Saturday after entering the transfer portal on Nov. 29.

Arizona State kicks off against Wisconsin in the Las Vegas Bowl at 8:30 p.m.
