Arizona State junior OL Dohnovan West declares for 2022 NFL Draft

Jan 3, 2022, 2:32 PM | Updated: 2:56 pm

Arizona State Sun Devils center Dohnovan West declared for the 2022 NFL Draft on Monday, the junior announced via Twitter.

West becomes the sixth Sun Devil to declare for April’s draft, joining OL Kellen Diesch, running back Rachaad White, linebacker Darien Butler, and cornerbacks Chase Lucas and Jack Jones.

The ASU center did not play in Thursday’s 20-13 Las Vegas Bowl loss to Wisconsin due to surgery on his hand.

West played for head coach Herm Edwards for three seasons from 2019-21 before declaring for the draft.

The offensive lineman never missed a regular-season game in his three-year Arizona State career, playing as both a guard and center in that time, including starting as a true freshman.

West was named the Pac-12’s Week 11 Offensive Lineman of the Week and to the All-Pac-12 Second Team Offense.

He also received high praise from Pro Football Focus and was ranked No. 80 in PFF’s top 100 prospects for the 2022 NFL Draft.

With West being able to play multiple positions along the interior of the offensive line combined with his run and pass blocking ability has the OL projected as a Day 2-3 selection.

“West has been starting ever since his freshman year in 2019. While he played guard last year, West starred at center this season and likely profiles best to there in the NFL.”

Diesch also joins him on the big board at No. 66.
