Arizona State defensive tackle D.J. Davidson declared for the 2022 NFL Draft on Thursday, the graduate student announced in a Twitter post.

Davidson is forgoing his final year of eligibility, which would have been his sixth at ASU.

He redshirted in 2017 before becoming a key piece of the defensive line for the ensuing four years.

Davidson played every game from the start of the 2019 season until the Las Vegas Bowl, in which he did not suit up.

The Mesa native was an integral player in ASU’s rush defense, especially. He won Pac-12 Defensive Lineman of the Week after collecting two tackles for loss against Southern Utah last September.

Davidson had his most impactful season this past year with 6.5 tackles for loss, four pass defenses and a fumble recovery. He was fourth on the team in tackles for loss.

His efforts landed him on the Pac-12 All-Conference Second Team.

The 6-foot-5, 325-pound lineman accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Bowl, a pre-draft showcase game on Feb. 3. Multiple Sun Devils will play in that game.

The NFL Draft begins on April 27.
