The Los Angeles Rams have signed safety Eric Weddle out of retirement, his agent announced on Wednesday.

The move comes after Rams safety and leading tackler Jordan Fuller was lost for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury.

Fuller also had signal-calling duties for the Los Angeles defense, which cornerback Jalen Ramsey took over once the safety exited Sunday’s Week 18 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Weddle hasn’t played in the NFL since 2019, with his last stint being with none other than the Rams.

The 37-year-old is one of the better defensive backs to take the gridiron having been named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

In what will now be his 14th NFL campaign, Weddle has tremendous playoff experience after spending time with the then-San Diego Chargers (2007-15), Baltimore Ravens (2016-18) and Rams (2019).

Weddle is a six-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro and three-time second-team All-Pro who was also the NFL’s co-leader in interceptions in 2011 with seven.

The 2007 second-round pick (No. 37 overall) out of Utah has 1,175 career tackles (899 solo), 29 interceptions and 98 passes defensed over 201 games played.

The Arizona Cardinals travel to Los Angeles for a Monday night Wild Card clash with the Rams at SoFi Stadium at 6:15 p.m.
