Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson is returning Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs after a three-game absence because of a left ankle sprain.

Johnson traveled with the team on its five-game road trip since sustaining the injury in a Jan. 8 loss to the Miami Heat in Phoenix. He missed the first three outings of the trip, three victories for the Suns.

Phoenix will be without Deandre Ayton, who sprained his right ankle in Sunday’s win over the Detroit Pistons.

Johnson has been playing the best basketball of his career. He’s scored in double figures for 19 straight games after previously never having a streak reach above three games. Johnson is averaging 15.6 points per game across that stretch and is shooting a team-best 47.4% from three-point range.

That included the six-game stretch that forward Jae Crowder missed due to health and safety protocols, which put Johnson into the starting lineup.

Monday’s game is a 6:30 p.m. tip-off you can hear on ESPN 620 AM and 98.7 FM HD-2.
