Kevin Kolb is 13 months removed from signing a contract with the Arizona Cardinals that pays him a guaranteed $21 million.
Kevin Kolb, as we all know, is also the backup quarterback for the Cardinals after head coach Ken Whisenhunt anointed John Skelton as the team’s starter for Sunday’s season opener against Seattle.
Many question whether Kolb can revisit the level of play that made him a commodity last summer.
Former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski was asked that very question during his weekly visit with Burns and Gambo on Arizona Sports 620 Thursday.
“I think with Kevin, it is mental,” Jaworski said. “When I evaluate the quarterback position, I evaluate it on being a championship player, not just a guy that’s going to be a starter in the NFL, that’s going to be happy to go 8-8, but what attributes does that quarterback have to be great — to be the best at what he does?
