Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet left the game in the fourth quarter and did not return in Sunday’s 115-110 victory over the San Antonio Spurs due to a right ankle sprain.

Shamet played 17 minutes, scoring three points and notched one steal before getting injured in the fourth quarter.

The guard was back peddling to play defense before he accidentally stepped on teammate Cam Johnson’s foot.

Shamet signed a four-year, $43 million rookie contract extension this offseason with Phoenix.

He is averaging 7.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game with the Suns in 19.9 minutes. Shamet is shooting a career-low 37.5% from the field and 35.5% from three-point range.

The 24-year-old is currently in his fourth season in the NBA and has playoff experience with both the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers.
