Arizona Cardinals QB Skelton injured, Kolb leads comeback

In a strange twist of fate, the Arizona Cardinals needed embattled quarterback Kevin Kolb to lead them to victory Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.

John Skelton, who had been tapped the starter before the season, injured his right ankle midway through the fourth quarter and had to be carted off the field. After the game it was reported Skelton suffered a high ankle sprain.

It was a tough day for Skelton in many respects. He started the game strong, completing 11-of-17 passes for 124 yards in the first half.

However, he looked like a totally different quarterback in the second half. He struggled mightily, going just 3-of-11 passing for a mere 24 yards and an interception.

The 24-year-old signal caller finished the game 14-for-28 for 149 yards and 1 INT.

Kolb took over when Skelton went down and marched the Cardinals 66 yards, connecting with wideout Andre Roberts on a 6 yard touchdown that gave the Cardinals the lead and eventual win.

With Kolb’s late-game heroics and the uncertain health status of Skelton, the Cardinals quarterback situation again appears muddled.
