The Arizona Coyotes have moved on from goalie Carter Hutton, trading him to the Toronto Maple Leafs for future considerations, the team announced on Monday.

Hutton, 36, hasn’t played for the Coyotes since October after suffering a lower-body injury. He’s appeared in three games for Arizona this season, posting an 0-2 record.

The veteran goalie signed a one-year deal with the Coyotes in the offseason and entered the season as the starter in-between the pipes. In his three games prior to injury, Hutton allowed 15 goals on 58 shots faced.

He joins a Maple Leafs team that has had three players appear in games this season behind starter Jack Campbell.

On Sunday, the Coyotes reportedly waived Hutton which would have sent him to the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL had no NHL team claimed him.

Due to the Hutton’s injury, Karel Vejmelka and Scott Wedgewood have received most of the action in the crease for the Coyotes.

Ivan Prosvetov has also seen two games of action while serving as the primary goalie for the Roadrunners and as Arizona’s top goalie prospect.
