ESPN picks up Wednesday game between Phoenix Suns, Miami Heat

Mar 4, 2022, 12:05 PM | Updated: 1:32 pm

ESPN announced that it will no longer carry the Atlanta Hawks-Milwaukee Bucks game next Wednesday and instead broadcast the Phoenix Suns’ visit to the Miami Heat that tips off at 5:30 p.m. MST.

It adds to a busy schedule of national TV appearances for the Suns.

Starting Sunday for a matinee against the Utah Jazz, they will have appeared on ABC or ESPN in five of six games in a row.

Phoenix (50-12) fell 118-114 against the Jazz before recovering to blow out the Portland Trail Blazers 120-90 on Wednesday despite playing for the first time this year without the starting backcourt of Chris Paul (thumb) and Devin Booker (health and safety protocols).

Phoenix will be in the spotlight this next week without Paul, who is projected to miss most if not all of the remaining regular season. Booker’s status remains unclear after he was placed in health and safety protocols on Wednesday.

Looking ahead, the Suns host the New York Knicks at 8 p.m. Friday on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station. It will be an ESPN-televised game before the team departs on a three-game road trip.

The Suns will then play the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday (1:30 p.m. ABC), visit the Orlando Magic on Tuesday (5 p.m., Bally Sports Arizona) and close with the game at Miami (5:30 p.m., ESPN).
