Phoenix Suns forward Cam Johnson will not play in Sunday’s road meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks due to a right quad contusion.
He showed up on Saturday’s injury report after scoring a career-high 38 points to take down the New York Knicks on Friday. Johnson hit a deep three at the buzzer to give Phoenix the 115-114 victory.
It was a physical game, as Johnson took a knee to the quad from Knicks center Mitchell Robinson on a drive to the basket during the second quarter.
Johnson also dealt with multiple bumps from Knicks forward Julius Randle throughout the game. Randle was ejected in the third quarter for shoving Johnson after the whistle.
Cam Johnson said last night he took a knee to the quad from Mitchell Robinson when Robinson contested his layup. One of those charley horse-type deals that happens every now and then on that kind of play.

Johnson then scored 21 points in the fourth quarter to help erase a 12-point deficit.
Guard Devin Booker is still in health and safety protocols and will not play on Sunday. Point guard Chris Paul and big men Dario Saric and Frank Kaminsky all remain out due to injuries.
The game tips off at 1:30 p.m. and will air on 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station.
