GCU defeats Dixie State, extends win streak to 4 games

PHOENIX (AP) — Holland Woods registered 13 points and seven assists as Grand Canyon beat Dixie State 70-53 on Saturday night.
Chance McMillian had 12 points for Grand Canyon (22-7, 12-5 Western Athletic Conference), which earned its fourth straight victory. Sean Miller-Moore added 12 points and nine rebounds. Yvan Ouedraogo had 14 rebounds.
Jovan Blacksher Jr., who led the Antelopes in scoring heading into the matchup with 16 points per game, had 5 points on 2-of-11 shooting.
Frank Staine had 16 points, nine rebounds and three blocks for the Trailblazers (13-18, 6-12), whose losing streak stretched to four games. Dancell Leter added 14 points. Hunter Schofield had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Cameron Gooden, whose 12 points per game entering the matchup ranked second on the Trailblazers, was held to only 3 points (1 of 11).
Dixie State led by 10 points with 13:17 remaining in the first half, but GCU stormed back and built a seven-point lead going into the break. GCU led by as many as 21 points in the second half.
The Antelopes leveled the season series against the Trailblazers. Dixie State defeated Grand Canyon 61-60 on Feb. 12.
