Lewis played his latest high school basketball in Texas but grew up in the Tucson area.
The 6-foot-4 guard is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 23 recruit in the country, a top-three shooting guard in his class.
Pac-12 Player of the Year and sophomore shooting guard Bennedict Mathurin is a potential lottery pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, which would leave Lewis an opportunity to step into some legitimate playing time right away if Mathurin were to enter the draft.
Lewis joins five-star point guard Kylan Boswell as the Wildcats’ second commitment of head coach Tommy Lloyd’s 2022 class.
Lloyd’s first season in Tucson has been a rousing success thus far, leading the program to a 28-3 regular-season record and No. 2 ranking in the country prior to the start of the Pac-12 Tournament.
The Wildcats’ first game of the tournament is on Thursday against Stanford in Las Vegas.
