GCU basketball’s NCAA tourney hopes end with loss in WAC Tournament

The Grand Canyon Antelopes’ NCAA Tournament hopes came to an end on Friday night in Las Vegas.
No. 4-seeded GCU basketball fell to the No. 1-seeded New Mexico State Aggies 75-70 in the WAC Tournament semifinals at the Orleans Arena.
Teddy Allen led New Mexico State with 25 points while Jabari Rice added 21 points for the Aggies.
Allen converted all 12 of his free throws in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.
New Mexico State (25-6) totaled 46 points in the first half — a season high for the Aggies — en route to a 46-37 halftime lead.
GCU’s Holland Woods led the ‘Lopes with 24 points.
Gabe McGlothan added 19 points and seven rebounds while Jovan Blacksher Jr. scored 13 points.
New Mexico State awaits the results of No. 2 seed Seattle and No. 6 seed Abilene Christian in the other WAC Tournament semifinal on Friday night.
The Aggies will play the winner in the conference title game on Saturday night at 8 p.m.
