NFL Draft prospect David Ojabo injured his left leg Friday during drills at Michigan’s pro day.
A projected first-round pick, Ojabo was helped off the field. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the spectators went silent when he went down.
A scary sight at @UMichFootball pro day. Edge rusher David Ojabo sustained injury in pass rush drill. Went down clutching left leg. Not sure if ankle or leg but he had to helped off field. pic.twitter.com/moL8FmbYb0

Ojabo is the fourth-most commonly mocked player heading to the Arizona Cardinals in the upcoming draft, according to ArizonaSports.com’s Mock Draft Tracker.
Many of those mock drafts were published before the Cardinals lost Pro Bowl pass-rusher Chandler Jones. He signed as a free agent with the Las Vegas Raiders officially on Thursday.
At present, Arizona has Markus Golden, Devon Kennard, Dennis Gardeck and second-year pro Victor Dimukeje returning to the outside linebacker room for the 2022 season.
Ojabo experienced a breakout year in 2021, tallying 35 tackles with 11 sacks, five forced fumbles and three passes defensed.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound linebacker has an elite physical profile but is considered relatively raw in terms of his skills, writes NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein.
The upside is evident, despite his inexperience. At times, the run tape can be a rough study, but it improved as the 2021 season progressed. Ojabo’s rush approach is fairly sophisticated with the feet and agility to juke, stutter, spin and race his way past offensive tackles. He’s not ready to take on pro run blockers, but Ojabo is in the early stages of his physical and play development
Ojabo is among the best pass-rushers available after likely top-five picks Aidan Hutchinson (Michigan) and Kayvon Thibodeaux (Oregon).
