D-backs drop series finale to Tigers: By the Numbers

Arizona Diamondbacks starter Trevor Cahill’s struggles returned Wednesday afternoon at Chase Field.

After a solid performance against the Cubs last Friday following being designated for assignment and a lengthy minor league stint, Cahill exited the game after four innings, trailing 7-0.

The Tigers would go on to win the rubber game of the three-game set 11-5.

Here’s a look at the festivities, by the numbers.

D-backs starter Trevor Cahill lasted just four innings in the game, giving up seven runs (three earned) and eight hits before leaving the contest trailing 7-0 in the fifth inning. It’s the fourth time in six MLB starts in which Cahill has failed to pitch more than four innings.
