A single, unscripted moment involving actor Will Smith’s hand meeting comedian Chris Rock’s face headlined the 2022 Oscars on Sunday night.
Since the slap heard across the globe, those on social media have had a field day with memes and GIFs of Smith smacking the funny out of Rock over a joke made toward the actor’s wife.
Arizona Cardinals cornerback Marco Wilson, who had a steal-the-show moment after throwing an opposing players’ cleat during his final season as a Florida Gator, was among those who seized the moment and posted an all-timer.

In the final game before the SEC Championship, the Gators and the LSU Tigers were tied 34-all late in the fourth quarter. After appearing to force the Tigers to punt on fourth down, Wilson celebrated the stop with the launching of LSU tight end Kole Taylor’s cleat down the field. Wilson was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct soon after before the Tigers would go on to kick a field goal that would be the deciding points.
Clearly Florida fans haven’t forgotten the incident, either.

While other factors could have been at play, the cleat throw may have benefitted the Cardinals, who were able to trade up in the fourth round to nab the cornerback in last year’s NFL Draft.
Wilson was thrown into the fray right off the bat as one of Arizona’s starting cornerbacks in 2021, recording 48 tackles, four passes defensed and two forced fumbles over 14 games.
