The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled right-handed pitcher Bo Schultz on Tuesday from Triple-A Reno while sending down outfielder Alfredo Marte, general manager Kevin Towers announced.

Schultz, 28, hasn’t made an appearance for the Diamondbacks since pitching one scoreless inning in the team’s season-opening series vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers in Sydney, Australia. He was optioned to Reno on March 29.

In 21 starts for the Aces this season, Schultz went 8-7 with a 5.75 ERA while throwing 117.1 innings. He recently recorded his first career complete game in a rain-shortened, seven-inning victory over Tacoma on July 20. The 6-foot-3 right-hander has spent more than seven years in the Minors with affiliates of the Diamondbacks and, before that, the Oakland A’s.

He will wear No. 58 for Arizona.

Marte, meanwhile, had played in 16 games over two different stints with the Diamondbacks this season. He hit .258 in 31 at-bats with one home run, three doubles and seven RBI. The 5-foot-11 right-handed hitter recently slugged a grand slam in a pinch-hit appearance vs. the Philadelphia Phillies on July 25.

Arizona’s 40-man roster remains at 37 after Tuesday’s moves.
