D-backs unveil new Chase Field eats ahead of Opening Day

Another Arizona Diamondbacks season, another year of creative Chase Field eats.

The D-backs and chef Stephen Tilder revealed their new lineup of Chase Field foods and beverages on Monday.

“We’re always looking for some new offerings for our fans,” D-backs president and CEO Derrick Hall told Arizona Sports’ Jeremy Schnell on Monday. “We’ve always wanted to be known as a destination where we have some of the most creative food concepts. We call them these ‘wow items’ each and every year.

“I let chef run with it. Chef Tilder comes up with so many creative items, so many different flavors and so many different concepts from really geographic diversity. He never ceases to amaze me. He’s one of if not the best chef in all of the sports industry. We’re lucky to have him and this is proof of that.”

From the buffalo chicken slider that’s covered with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos to the Hatch Valley whiskey burger, the options are aplenty in 2022.

“I’ve been given full creative ability to come up (with these items) and there’s a lot of trust in me, and I really enjoy working with these guys,” Tilder said Monday.

There is more than just Arizona-inspired food, too, with Tilder planning to have an opponent-inspired hot dog for each of the D-backs’ home series.

“I did heavy research on all the states,” Tilder said. “For places that don’t really have a specific hot dog, I just kind of went off of ingredients that were popular.

“The Mets is going to be classic New York sauerkraut and a red onion sauce. Most of it is stuff that you really, really find is really famous in that state for a hot dog.”

Aside from the numerous new concoctions from Tilder, Chase Field will also feature Black Rock Coffee, Chick-fil-A, Crèmily, Scoopwell’s Dough Bar and Zoyo Neighborhood Yogurt this coming season.
