The Arizona Diamondbacks are one step closer to the first pitch of the regular season.

The team officially set its Opening Day lineup as it faces the San Diego Padres on Thursday, with centerfielder Daulton Varsho leading things off and Seth Beer taking over as the team’s designated hitter.

Varsho is followed by second baseman Ketel Marte and left fielder David Peralta. Batting cleanup is first baseman Christian Walker. Last season, Walker recorded 46 RBIs (tied for sixth on the team) to go along with 10 home runs, 98 hits and 55 runs scored.

Rounding out the batting order is catcher Carson Kelly, Beer, third baseman Drew Ellis and shortstop Geraldo Perdomo. Ellis and Perdomo crack the starting lineup with third baseman Josh Rojas (right oblique strain) and shortstop Nick Ahmed (right shoulder inflammation) on the 10-day injured list.

Madison Bumgarner, who was named Arizona’s Opening Day starter last Sunday, is on the mound Thursday night but will not bat thanks to the universal DH rule implemented by the league this offseason.
