Arizona Cardinals exclusive rights free agent wide receiver Antoine Wesley signed his one-year tender Thursday.
Wesley in his first season with the team recorded 19 catches for 208 yards and three touchdowns over 15 games played.
After not seeing a pass come his way over his first five games played, Wesley was utilized over most of the second half of the schedule due to injuries to No. 1 option DeAndre Hopkins. All of Wesley’s receiving stats came in eight of his final 10 regular season games played.
It was a reunion of sorts for Wesley, who played under head coach Kliff Kingsbury during his college days at Texas Tech.
Wesley originally entered the league with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2019.
The wide receiver figures to be a depth piece this upcoming season with Hopkins expected to be back in his No. 1 role. Wesley could, however, see more time on the field given Arizona’s current state of affairs in the wide receivers room.
Outside of Wesley and Hopkins, the Cardinals have second-year pro Rondale Moore, Greg Dortch, Andy Isabella and Andre Baccellia under contract through next season after Christian Kirk’s departure to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Isabella, however, has been granted permission to seek a trade after recording just one catch for 13 yards last season.
Of the four, Moore put up the best numbers, catching 54 balls for 435 yards and a touchdown over 14 games played.
