Former Arizona State Sun Devils forward Jalen Graham announced Thursday that he is transferring to Arkansas.
Graham wrote “same goal, new beginning” in his announcement on Twitter.
The forward heads to Arkansas after spending his first three seasons with the Sun Devils. In what would end up being his final year at ASU, he averaged 9.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists over 23.5 minutes per game and shot 48.6% from the field.
Graham was named to the All-Pac-12 Second Team for his efforts.
The season was far from smooth sailing for the Valley native and ASU.
Over his first 11 games on the year (seven starts), Graham averaged just 4.8 points on 41.8% shooting from the field to go along with 3.0 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per outing. ASU went 4-7 over that span.
Luckily for Graham and the Sun Devils, the forward saw an uptick in play over the final 12 games of the season, averaging 12.3 points on 48.8% shooting to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists over 28.2 minutes played.
Graham’s departure this offseason continues a trend of ASU starters transferring after Remy Martin headed to Kansas last year following his All-Pac-12 First Team nod for the 2020-21 season.
While Martin wasn’t an every-game starter for the Jayhawks, he was a big part in Kansas’s run to a national championship this season, defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels 72-69.
