D-backs option Chafin, select Hagens from Reno

A day after his Major League debut, Andrew Chafin is being sent back down to Reno.
This isn’t so much about a bad outing, but rather the Arizona Diamondbacks needing a fresh arm on the roster. Chafin threw five-plus scoreless innings, giving up no runs and only three hits.
Right-handed pitcher Bradin Hagens gets the call and his chance with the big-league club. He was 8-7 in 19 starts and 25 outings with Double-A Mobile and Triple-A Reno.
Hagens has spent six seasons in the minor leagues, being a Diamondback draft pick in 2009.
