QB Brock Purdy reportedly at Arizona Cardinals’ NFL Draft local pro day

Apr 14, 2022, 9:45 AM

The Arizona Cardinals reportedly are working out the 2017 Arizona High School Player of the Year and former Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy on Thursday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

It does not count as a top-30 visit, which allows each NFL team to host a maximum of 30 NFL Draft prospects. Purdy is among the local draftees attending the Cardinals’ local pro day on Thursday, according to AZCardinals.com’s Darren Urban.

Purdy, who went to Perry High School in Gilbert, played four years at Iowa State and as a senior completed 72% of his passes for 3,188 yards, 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

He added 238 rushing yards and a score.

Purdy is not the only quarterback Arizona has reportedly gotten a look at in this draft cycle. According to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson, the Cardinals worked out South Dakota State quarterback Chris Oladokun in late March.

Of course, the team working out quarterbacks might stick out with starter Kyler Murray entering his fourth season and requesting an extension this offseason.

The Cardinals also have veteran backup Colt McCoy, who signed a two-year deal to return this season, as well as third-stringer Trace McSorley.
