Phoenix Suns guard Cam Payne on Thursday announced he teamed with Gilbert-based Built By Gamers (BBG), a gaming lifestyle organization, as owner and participant.

“Gaming is a huge passion of mine. I love to game, it’s a social thing for me,” Payne said in a press release. “This is a place that I can connect with my friends and family. It feels really good to be an owner in Built By Gamers.

“This is the first thing I’m in outside of basketball. I know how big of a deal it is and I’m excited to grow my platform while streaming. I want people to see who Cameron Payne is outside the game of basketball. BBG is the spot.”

To announce the partnership, BBG released a hype video that showcased a gaming room the company built for Payne.

Payne grew up gaming and in the 2020 NBA bubble, after just joining the Suns, bonded with his new teammates by playing Call of Duty and NBA 2K.

“Cam is a gamer through and through,” BBG CEO Todd Searle said in a release. “He’s committed to constant improvement in all aspects of life. We love the energy he brings to the world and can’t wait to watch what he brings in his streams.”

Built By Gamers said that Payne and the company hope to bring entertaining gaming content and also expect to help Valley-area non-profits with their partnership.
